Esther and I found silk lilies and roses on the sidewalk at St. Viateur. I had been wanting to decorate the batmobile I ordered for Grandma, and ever since we moved to Montreal I've wanted to wind flowers through my bike's shopping basket like all the lovely decorated bikes I see around Mile-End. So today I finally did it. Looks like a real Montreal ladybike.

That was day 129. On day 130 I decided to rectify my table manners in time for London. At a recent literary dinner I found myself sitting next to a senator who informed me I was using his bread plate and would need to give it back to him. I'm not sure whose manners were worse, but have ordered myself a copy of "A Butler's Guide to Table Manners" so that by the time I get to London I will at least know how to eat bread off a plate, even if I retrace George Orwell's steps as he ordered tea, bread and marge in his down-and-out holes-in-the-wall. Got to keep the side up.

Well your senator knows diddly. The Queen herself in this situation would simply have stolen the bread plate of the person to her right. (And one smiles as one does it...)

Lovely bike flora!
