Gin & Tonic and Cuban Cigars.

Days 141 and 142: Okay, I've been thinking about this for awhile, but have now begun to implement it - I need to make it cumulative: to start, I've resumed the occasional Cuban cigar and have instituted a 5:30 Gin and Tonic Hour. It's the frequency I need to adjust. The plan is, that by the time I'm ready to take the lethal euphoria cocktail prescribed by my high school friend who became a pharmacist (I mean when I reach 100 or fail my do-it-yourself senility checklist ), I'll be a smokin', drinkin' good times gal like I was when Blondie sang The Tide is High.  I figure it's time to eat some red meat and resume all the things that are supposed to kill you. I've had over 25 years of vegetables and diligence and hardly any alcohol and no drugs or tobacco. This Must Improve. Dear One bought some extremely fragrant gin from Scotland and had hopes I'd want some every evening, but so far I'm limiting it to three drinks a week. These three gin and tonics on ice with lime are unnervingly pleasant. I know some of you discovered this long ago. I'm just saying it's time for me to embark on a delicious decline toward oblivion. I hope to pace it out carefully, har har...

G&T is my drink of choice. I used to drink Scotch and soda in the winter and Gin and Tonic in the summer, but now it's G&T all year long. I have stopped the Cuban cigars, I realized after a cigar hangover, I was doing it more for show....

When the Hendrick's runs out, try Canada's own amazing Victoria Gin, at long last available in Montreal (it might have to be special ordered). It's made on Vancouver Island and is amazingly delicious.
